Hypnosis is a natural state of awareness where attention becomes more inwardly focused, allowing the subconscious to become more accessible. Working through issues in this state allows us to interact directly with the root causes that shape our patterns and emotional responses.

Similar to that space half way between awake and asleep. Have you ever forgotten part of a long drive, or lost track of time while immersed in a book or film? That’s the same level of brain wave activity experienced during hypnosis. It is a naturally occurring state that we all experience, and we all love that feeling for good reason. It is a relaxed and comfortable state. Many people feel like they’re simply imagining the session, or feel that they’re daydreaming. Later, when they fully realize the real changes they have experienced, they feel even more intrigued by the power of their own subconscious mind.

This is not medical or psychological treatment. It is subconscious hypnotic work focused on emotional and behavioral responses. While both meditation and hypnosis are similar to that place between awake and asleep, hypnosis is neither meditation, nor sleep. During a hypnosis session you are aware and in control, able to interact with your subconscious. Meditation is different because there is no one there who is trained to guide you towards solutions and resources, so your mind is simply on an endless quest for peace and quiet. However, the beauty of that state between awake and asleep is that our conscious mind takes a back seat and lets our subconscious drive for awhile, which allows unconscious information to surface and be processed. As you can imagine, that is difficult for us to do by ourselves because our mind naturally wants to engage and analyze things. This is why it is so helpful to have a coach or guide to help us access and navigate that state of mind so we can do changework there. The odds of accomplishing this during meditation are very slim, whereas hypnosis often delivers real change.
